Your data is an extension of your patients and customers. We believe it should be treated with priority and care. Backups ensure that your critical data will survive any of the likely hazards. Too many individuals and companies have suffered from having their hardware lost or stolen, destroyed by fires or natural disasters, infected with malware or corrupted by targeted hacker attacks. Common sense dictates that all hard drives will eventually fail; the question is whether or not you are prepared for the worst-case scenario.
This is why we follow the 3-2-1 Backup Rule. The rule is: keep at least three (3) copies of your data, and store two (2) backup copies on different storage media, with one (1) of them located offsite. We also keep everything encrypted, both in transit and at rest, satisfying HIPAA requirements. Your data, whether in the office on workstations and servers, or in the cloud in Office 365 or G Suite, will be available when disaster strikes.
